Unleashing the conveying power of piFLOW®

piFLOW® conveyors now also available to companies with limited access to compressed air.

Taby, Sweden – Piab is offering a range of electro mechanical pumps as a complement to its proprietary ejector pumps. The move will broaden the scope for the company's popular vacuum conveying systems based on high quality piFLOW® conveyors for powder and bulk materials.

Although it is widely regarded as the 4th utility of industry, compressed air is not universally or readily available to all companies. To enable those with limited access to compressed air to take full advantage of the benefits offered by piFLOW® conveyors, normally powered by compressed air driven ejector pumps, Piab decided to add an electro mechanical alternative from a reputable supplier.

A complete range of electro mechanical vacuum pumps of dry rotary vane type, matching Piab's existing ejector pump portfolio, will be able to serve piFLOW®i, f and p conveyors. The pumps are made by Becker, and any service and maintenance related issues will be expertly dealt with by the manufacturer's global support teams.

”Rotary vane pumps will be a great alternative for anyone wishing to use our piFLOW® conveyors with mechanical pumps rather than ejector pumps, especially those with no compressors to power pneumatic ejector pumps,” comments Jarno Tahvanainen, Vice President of Piab's Material Handling Division.

To meet the requirements of mains supplies in Europe, Asia and Americas, Piab is offering up to three different motor types of each pump. All pumps are fitted with integrated, secondary intake filters and non-return valves.

Piab's piFLOW® conveyors have been specially developed to meet the stringent demands regarding operational safety and hygiene within the pharmaceutical (piFLOW®p), food (piFLOW®f), and chemical (piFLOW®i) industries.
